Access Insitut Pasteur

Certain products and services are offered to Pasteurians only

CRBIP offers a number of services to Pasteurians only, this applies specifically to:

  • requests for processing and/or storage of prospective collection
  • storage and/or restricted access to existing collections

This means you can entrust the processing and/or storage of your samples to a biobanking specialist while retaining control over access.

Different forms for different types of requests

Please use the forms or links below for information and/or to send us your request.

Guide for Quality Control of old collections

Collections or series of samples stored in units or platforms at the Pasteur Institute, excluding CRBIP

By clicking on the links below, you can view biological resources that may be available on the Institut Pasteur campus. These lists are not exhaustive, and the samples are generally not certified.

Thus, the identity and quality of the cell lines are not certified (species, possible mutations, potential contamination by extraneous agents such as mycoplasmas, or cross-species contamination).

Please note: The rate of contamination and misidentification of cell lines is extremely high. Estimates from various studies indicate that up to 36% of cell lines are of a different origin or species than what was reported. Here are a few examples.

Regarding iPSCs, their qualification requires assays to measure pluripotency markers, post-thaw viability, genotyping consistent with that of the primary samples, and “embryoid body” formation.

Regarding microbial strains, aside from the need for accurate taxonomic assignment using multiphase approaches, a strain that has undergone multiple freeze-thaw cycles and passages may carry significant and unpredictable genomic mutations or rearrangements.

An interactive repository of Nextstrain visualizations has been set up to help visualisation and sharing of microbial resources (notably virus isolates). In a few clics, you can see which isolates are available on campus for a given virus lineage, and in which team.

You can contact us for any quality control needs.
