You can deposit a strain in the CIP open collection, you can deposit a microorganism in the CNCM (International Depositary Authority), or you can request storage of existing collections (microbial or human samples) with different degrees of visibility, in our public catalogue(s), institutional catalogue(s) or in no catalogue.
The CIP accepts deposits of bacterial and fungal strains. For all newly deposited bacterial strains, we perform WGS for confirmation of the strain identity. The depositor may request access to the genomic data.
The National Collection of Cultures of Microorganisms (CNCM) is an International Depositary Authority (IDA) under the Budapest Treaty (BT) for the purposes of national and international patent procedures. Being the only collection in France authorized in matters of patents, the CNCM accepts bacteria, filamentous fungi, yeasts, viruses and animal and human cell lines.
